Jane Dittmar Receives CABA Liberty Bell Award

On April 30th Jane Dittmar who is both a principal and mediator with Positive Solutions Group, received the Charlottesville-Albemarle Bar Association’s (CABA) Liberty Bell Award. The award was given during CABA’s Law Day Celebration, an annual day of recognition observed on May 1st that reflects on the role of law in the foundation of the country and recognizes its importance for society.

The Liberty Bell Award was presented to Dittmar after an address by Judge Cheryl Higgins.

The award is conveyed to a non-lawyer who promotes a better understanding of the Constitution, encourages respect for the law, stimulates a deeper sense of individual responsibility, contributes to the effective functioning of our governmental institutions, and fosters a better understanding of the law.

Dittmar received nominations from the legal community for her work as a Supreme Court of Virginia certified mediator, her time as an Albemarle County Supervisor and Board Chair, her dedication to public service, and for her knowledge of the Constitution.

“I am humbled by this honor,” Dittmar said. “I am proud of the work I have done as a mediator and during my tenure as Chair of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors. In both positions, the Constitution served as a compass in my decision making….”

The Law Day celebration and award presentation took place on Saturday, April 30th at 11:30AM inside the Albemarle County Circuit Court at 501 East Jefferson Street.
